High Performance Health (HPH) Program
Goal: apply program to higher level athletes that are looking to improve their sport performance by optimizing their nutrition, recovery and supplementation strategy.
Benefits
1) Increase strength gains and lean muscle mass during training periods
2) Decrease post exertional fatigue and increase speed of physiological recovery
3) Improve competitive performance through appropriate and safe nutritional and supplemental strategies
4) Decrease chance of overtraining/overreaching syndromes
5) Promote rapid injury and illness and recovery
The Plan
There are 2 parts to the HPH program. To maximize results and benefits, both should be applied simultaneously. The following is a basic template of this plan and it can be modified to best suit each athlete and organization.
➢ Part one: Personalized one on one assessment and treatment plan
➢ Part two: The 6 “R” educational component or Maximum Athletic Performance (MAP) Plan that can be applied individually or in a group setting and is followed up on in the personal meetings
Part One
1) 60 minute initial consult
a. Chief concern and or complaint – current injury, pain, obstacles to performance, history of injury
b. Intro to High Performance Health (MAPP) guide
2) 30 minute follow up - with a few days to 2 weeks
a. Management plan to address chief complaint – treatment employed if needed
b. Personalize MAPP
3) Mid season follow up
a. Reassess chief compliant and any new injuries
b. MAPP follow up
4) Post competition follow up
a. General concerns, injury and feedback
b. Supplementation and diet plan for training phase (Rebuild section of HPH plan)
Part two
Maximum Athletic Performance Plan (MAPP)
The MAPP consists of 6 guiding principles designed to improved physical and athletic performance. They create the substance and details within the context of the HPH program. These principles address each aspect of athletic performance and are organized for easy application and execution. They are based on the latest sport performance science and the holistic philosophy of Naturopathy medicine. The MAPP is designed to help all people looking to improve their capacity of physical activity. From elite athletes to weekend warriors, the 6 “R” principles can be effectively applied to yield powerful results.
